We are so excited to be featuring this page. So many of us have questions about our faith. The Catholic FAQs will address those common questions about the Catholic faith.
What is the best way to receive the Holy Communion?
The Holy Communion, also known as the Eucharist is one of the great mysteries of our faith. It is our belief that when we receive the Holy Communion that Jesus Christ is truly present within us.
One of the most common questions asked by parishioners is how to properly receive the Holy Communion.
There are two ways to do this – either placed on the tongue or in the hand.
If you’re going to receive the Holy Communion by tongue, your head should be slightly tilted back. The tongue should come out over the bottom teeth lining up with the bottom lip. Remember, don’t clench your teeth and give the Father time to remove his hand before closing the mouth to avoid biting.
Or if you prefer to receive the Holy Communion by hand, the best way is to put one hand down – palms facing up and place the other hand on top of it.
And remember, the Holy Communion should be consumed before leaving the altar area.

How much time does the Father spend with me during confession?
As you know, confession begins 20 minutes before each Mass and it is Father Henry and Father David’s intention to meet with every parishioner who wishes to attend confession.
Although there is no actual time limit your time in confession, we ask that you be considerate of other parishioners who would also like to attend confession before Mass begins.
If you require more time with the Father, you can contact the parish office at 713-921-1261 to schedule an appointment to meet with him.
